Lesotho Garden wins People’s Choice Award at Chelsea Flower Show

Lesotho inspired garden ‘Hope in Vulnerability’ has been voted by the British public as their favourite garden awarding Matt Keightley the People’s Choice Award at the Chelsea Flower Show 2015 (The South African; 2015).


It was designed to mimic the wild landscape of Lesotho, the landlocked African kingdom in which it works with vulnerable, HIV positive children (Daily Mail, 2015).

Prince Harry In Lesotho – A Right Royal Success

Prince Harry in Lesotho-1733103Prince Harry has pleased everyone this week with a highly successful trip to Lesotho as part of work for his charity Sentebale. Prince Harry worked alongside the younger brother of Lesotho’s King, Prince Seeiso as part of the charity which he setup in 2006 to commemorate both their deceased mothers. Sentebale means ‘forget me not’ in Sotho.

The two princes visited Kananelo Centre for the Deaf, in a rural setting outside the capital Maseru. It is one of just two schools for deaf children in the country. In a series of 1-storey huts, a group of Catholic nuns educate 85 students aged between five and 22. Prince Harry first visited in 2004 during his gap year, and from 2008, has provided 70% of the school’s running costs. Read more

Prince Harry rode into a mountain village on horseback in a colourful African royal procession before introducing his brother William to one of the world’s poorest countries.

As the two brothers began a two-day visit to the southern African nation of Lesotho, Prince Harry was given the rare honour of a royal procession to welcome him to the impoverished kingdom, where his Sentebale charity helps vulnerable children. Read more
